When it comes to radar level meters, there is no shortage of flanges to mention. Many people do not know what exactly is the flange connected to the radar level meter. What does it do? What material is it made of? What are the common types? Today I take you one by one answer!

The flange is a part of the interconnection between shaft and shaft, used for the connection between pipe ends; also used in the equipment import and export on the flange, used for the connection between two pieces of equipment. The flange connection or flange joint refers to the flange, gasket, and bolt three interconnected as a group of combinations of sealing structures of the detachable connection.

There are many types of flanges, of which there are four most common, the most widely used, including plate flat welding flange, neck flat welding flange, neck butt welding flange, and live set flange.

1. Plate-type flat welding flange

This flange structure is relatively simple, and production and processing costs are low, so the use of a wide range, is the most common flange in daily use, the pressure is usually 5 kinds: PN2.5, PN6, PN10, PN16, PN25. because of the low price, so rigid enough, and not applicable in flammable and explosive and other dangerous working conditions.

2. With neck flat welding flange

This flange with a convex neck, this design improves the rigidity and load-bearing, more suitable for use in a higher-pressure environment. Higher production costs, special appearance, in transport needs to be noted to prevent being bumped, or damaged.

3. With neck butt weld flange

Compared with the necked flat welding flange, the necked butt welding flange convex neck higher, bearing strength and rigidity has been strengthened and is not easy to deform, so can be applied to the pressure and temperature higher occasions.

4. Live set flange

This flange can be rotated, is easy to install, use flexible, and two sides can be adopted different materials for production and manufacturing, thereby reducing production costs, and being suitable for application in a corrosive environment.
