What are the areas of application for orifice flow meters? - Just Measure it

What are the areas of application for orifice flow meters?

1. Energy measurement

Energy sources are divided into primary energy sources (coal, crude oil, coal bed methane, LPG, and natural gas), secondary energy sources (electricity, coke, artificial gas, refined petroleum products, LPG, steam), and energy-carrying work substances (compressed air, oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, water).

Energy metering is an important means of scientifically managing energy, achieving energy savings and reducing consumption, and improving economic efficiency.

Flow meters are an important part of energy metering instruments. Water, artificial gas, natural gas, steam and oil, all commonly used energy sources, use an extremely large number of flow meters, which are indispensable tools for energy management and economic accounting.

2. Industrial production processes

It is widely used in metallurgy, electric power, coal, chemical industry, petroleum, transportation, construction, light textile, food, medicine, agriculture, environmental protection, and people’s daily life, etc.

It is an important tool for developing industrial and agricultural production, saving energy, improving product quality, and raising economic efficiency and management level.

It occupies an important position in the national economy. In process automation instruments and devices, flow meters have two main functions: as a detection instrument for process automation control systems and as a total meter for measuring material quantities.

3. Environmental protection works

Emissions of smoke, waste liquids and sewage seriously pollute the atmosphere and water resources, posing a serious threat to the human environment.

Flue gas emission control is an important project to eradicate pollution and each chimney must be fitted with a flue gas analysis instrument and flow meter to form a continuous casket emission monitoring system.

4. Transportation

There are five modes of transport: rail, road, air, water, and pipeline. Although pipeline transport has been in existence for a long time, it is not commonly used.

With the prominence of environmental issues, the characteristics of pipeline transport are attracting attention.

Pipeline transport must be equipped with flow meters, which are the eyes of control, distribution, and scheduling, as well as a necessary tool for safety monitoring and economic accounting.

5. Biotechnology

The 21st century will usher in the century of life sciences and the industry characterized by biotechnology will grow rapidly. There are many substances that need to be monitored and measured in biotechnology, such as blood, urine, etc.

6. Marine meteorology, rivers, and lakes

These areas are open flow channels and generally require flow rate detection and then extrapolation of flow rates.

7. Scientific experiments

Scientific experiments need not only the number of orifice flowmeters, and the variety is extremely complicated. According to statistics, a large part of the more than 100 kinds of the flowmeter is used for scientific research needs, they are not mass production, or sold in the market, many research institutions and large enterprises are set up special groups to develop special flowmeter.
