Radar level meter measuring boiler discharge tank feasibility analysis

For some industrial production scenarios, such as boiler discharge tanks, liquid level measurement is very critical. Radar level meter has become a common level measurement tool with the advantages of fast response time, high measurement accuracy, and good reliability.

In special liquid-level measurement scenarios such as boiler drainage tanks, the feasibility of a radar level meter needs to be analyzed.

This paper will introduce the feasibility analysis of a radar level meter for measuring boiler drainage tanks from the characteristics and measurement difficulties of boiler drainage tanks and two actual cases.

A boiler drain tank is a common production equipment in industrial production, with the following characteristics: high temperature and pressure: the high temperature and pressure inside the boiler drain tank bring some difficulties to the measurement. Large changes in liquid level: As the boiler drain tank is in a cyclic working condition, the liquid level will constantly change.

Complex nature of liquid: As there are many kinds of liquids in the boiler discharge tank and their nature is complex, the level measurement is not accurate enough. Corrosive substances: There are some corrosive substances in the discharge tank, which brings challenges to the service life of the equipment.

Although the boiler discharge tank has the above characteristics, the radar level meter can still be used as a viable level measurement tool in practical applications.

Here are two actual cases:

Case 1: A pharmaceutical company uses a radar level meter for boiler discharge tank level measurement.

The nature of the liquid in the boiler discharge tank of this company is complex and the level varies greatly, so the use of other types of level meters cannot meet the needs. The radar level meter successfully solved these problems and provided accurate and precise feedback on the level measurement.

Case 2: A petrochemical company used traditional level meters for level measurement of boiler discharge tanks, but there were often large errors. Later, they adopted a radar level meter and found that the instrument’s fast response time and high accuracy allowed them to measure the liquid level in the boiler discharge tank in a stable and accurate manner.

This improved the accuracy of the equipment and increased productivity and product quality.

Despite some of the more demanding characteristics and measurement difficulties of boiler drain tanks, the radar level meter is still a very effective measurement tool.

Especially in high temperature, high pressure, and corrosive material environment, it can measure the liquid level very stably and accurately.

In practical application, the selection and installation of radar level meters need to be arranged scientifically and standardized to make better use of their advantages and to ensure their stability and reliability under high temperature, high pressure, and corrosive substance environment.

We hope that this paper, through the analysis of the characteristics and measurement difficulties of boiler drain tanks and the introduction of two actual cases, can provide reference and help relevant users to improve the efficiency and quality of process production.
