Radar level meter antenna types - Just Measure it

Radar level meter antenna types

Radar level meter antenna, how much do you know? Radar level meter, there are contact and non-contact; and radar level meter antenna, there are also contact radar level meter antenna and non-contact radar level meter antenna. For different types of antenna, radar level meter performance is different, suitable for different working conditions, today is a brief introduction to several common types of radar level meter antenna.

1. Flared antenna

This antenna is the preferred choice for non-contact radar level meters. As the horn diameter changes in size, the emission angle follows, and the energy changes. The smaller the emission angle, the more concentrated the energy and the more accurate the measurement. For this reason alone, radar-level meters with flared antennas work best in open spaces.

The flared radar level meter also has several features, namely that it is suitable for non-corrosive media and is easy to clean. This is why flared radar level meters are often used in large plants to measure media in storage and buffer tanks.

2. Rod antenna

Most of the materials used in the production of this type of antenna are polypropylene, polytetrafluoroethylene, and other polymer materials, whose most important feature is their resistance to corrosion. For this reason, rod radar level meters are suitable for highly corrosive liquid media such as acids and alkalis. In addition to the material, rod radar level meters can also measure media with volatile properties.

3. Parabolic antenna

This antenna has a large aperture size, small emission angle, strong penetration, concentrated energy, suitable for strong dust conditions, and the installation conditions must be greater than or equal to DN200 flange or more.

At present, there are far more antennas for radar level meters on the market. In the future, more types of antennas will be added to the list. To really understand the industry and radar level meter antennas, we need to keep an eye on new technologies and products, understand their advantages, and disadvantages, understand their suitable working conditions, and more related knowledge.
