Installation requirements for guided wave radar and capacitive class level meters - Just Measure it

Installation requirements for guided wave radar and capacitive class level meters

In the field working conditions, we can see various liquid level meters, such as tuning fork vibration type, magnetic float type, pressure type, ultrasonic, sonar wave, magnetic flap, radar, etc.

As the level meter is used to measure the liquid level of the vessel, it is difficult to install and the installation has to have certain installation requirements.

Today, I would like to introduce you to what requirements should be met for the installation of guided wave radar and capacitance type level meter.

Guided wave radar and capacitance level meters shall be installed in accordance with the following requirements.

1. The level meter should be installed on the top of the tank to avoid collision with the moving parts in the equipment; when the medium in the equipment fluctuates drastically, the waveguide rod should be fixed with a through-hole protection tube.

2. When the level meter is installed on the connection pipe outside the equipment, it should comply with the following provisions.

① The length of the waveguide rod should include the measurement dead zone of the upper and lower parts, and its end should be at least 50mm below the center of the lower connection port of the connection pipe;

② When using a double rod type probe guided wave radar level meter, the diameter of the connecting tube should not be less than 80mm; using a single rod guided wave radar level meter, the diameter of the connecting tube should not be less than 50mm.

3. When using a cable probe-type guided wave radar level meter to measure large liquid levels, the cable should be straightened and fixed at the bottom of the equipment. When the liquid level fluctuates greatly, it should be fixed with a through-hole protection tube.

4. When the measured medium temperature is high, the transmitter should be installed separately.

5. The installation of wave-guided radar and capacitance level meters should also comply with the manufacturer’s requirements.
