Application of radar level meters in waste storage bin measurements

Waste disposal and storage have become an important issue as environmental awareness increases. Waste storage bins are an important part of the waste treatment process, and their measurement accuracy directly affects the efficiency and safety of waste treatment.

Traditional measurement methods have many problems, such as complicated operation, low efficiency, and high error. Therefore, it is especially important to adopt advanced measuring equipment and methods for accurate measurement.

Radar level meter, as a kind of non-contact and high-precision measuring equipment, has been widely used in the measurement of waste storage silos.

The measurement difficulties of waste storage silo are mainly reflected in the following aspects:

1. Complex nature of materials: the materials in the waste storage silo are of various types, including solid wastes, liquid wastes, etc., which are of different nature, some of which may be corrosive, and some of which may be adhesive, which puts forward high requirements for the measurement equipment.

2. Harsh environment: the waste storage silo is usually in a closed, wet, toxic and harmful environment, which puts forward high requirements for the protection level and stability of the measurement equipment.

3. Large measurement range: the size of the waste storage silo is usually large, and the measurement range is from several meters to tens of meters. environment, which puts forward high requirements on the protection level and stability of the measuring equipment.

4. High requirements on the accuracy of the measurement: the measurement results of the waste storage bin is directly related to the efficiency and safety of the waste treatment, so the measurement accuracy of the requirements are very high.

Therefore, the requirement for measurement accuracy is very high.

Radar level meters are measuring instruments based on the time travel principle. Radar waves travel at the speed of light and the travel time can be converted into a level signal by the electronic components.

The probe sends out high-frequency pulses that propagate at the speed of light in space, and when the pulses meet the surface of the material, they are reflected back and received by the receiver inside the instrument, which converts the distance signal into a level signal.

Because the radar level meter is non-contact measurement, so it is not affected by the nature of the material, can work stably in harsh environments. At the same time, the radar level meter has a large measuring range and high accuracy, which can meet the measurement needs of waste storage silo.

A chemical plant has a large waste storage silo for storing various chemical wastes. Due to the complex nature of the wastes and the harsh environment of the storage silo, traditional measurement methods cannot meet the measurement needs. To solve this problem, the chemical plant used radar level meters for measurement.

First, the engineers selected a suitable radar level meter model based on the size and shape of the storage silo. Then, they installed the radar level meter on top of the storage silo and transmitted the measurement data to the control room via a wireless signal. Finally, the engineers determined the height and volume of the waste by analyzing the measurement data.

By using radar level meters, the chemical plant successfully solved the measurement problem of the waste storage bin. The radar level meter not only improves the accuracy and efficiency of the measurement but also reduces the complexity and risk of the operation. This case demonstrates the superiority of radar level meters in waste storage bin measurements.
