Culverts and exploratory well measurement, choosing which level meter is good, always can not get attention, the user themselves on the Internet to check the advantages and disadvantages of various types of level meter, see dizzy, also do not know how to choose. So today, we will discuss these two working conditions.
We start with the exploratory well, as the sewage outlet into the river is located completely underwater point, so it is not possible to measure the flow directly, you need to find the nearest exploratory well along the pipe network upstream as a monitoring point, if the exploratory well is not deep, no water pipe through the side wall, you can directly use ultrasonic level meter or radar level meter to measure the liquid level.
Ultrasonic level meters are based on the principle of ultrasonic emission and reception. At a certain temperature, the propagation speed of ultrasonic waves is relatively constant, and with a known speed, the distance from the ultrasonic waves to the surface of the liquid can be calculated by calculating the time from the sending to the receiving. The radar level meter is suitable as it measures the depth of the liquid by transmitting and receiving microwave pulses.
For exploratory wells with water pipes on the sidewalls, the level can be measured with a pressure level meter and the flow can be measured with an ultrasonic Doppler flowmeter, which must be installed in the outlet pipe and the flow calculated through the terminal.
Turning to culvert culverts, if the effluent outlet into the river is the point of a culvert or culvert where the diversion is intermittent and the unit will not be flooded, an ultrasonic level meter or radar level meter can also be used to measure the flow. If there is a certain depth of water in the culvert and the unit may be flooded, then ditto for level measurement using a pressure level meter.
In general, these two working conditions can be used as radar level meters or ultrasonic level meters, if there is a special working condition as I mentioned above, you can also choose pressure level meters. They all belong to the classification of river outfalls. When you choose a level meter, you must choose according to your own working conditions, so that you can get twice the result with half the effort.
