Oval gear flowmeter common troubleshooting methods - Just Measure it

Oval gear flowmeter common troubleshooting methods

Phenomenon

Reason

Treatment Measures

The rotor does not turn 1. Filter clogged. 1. Clean the filter.
2. Impurities enter the flowmeter to make the rotor stuck. 2. Check the filter for damage
and clean the inside of the flowmeter.
The rotor rotates normally
but the counter does not count
1. Poor engagement of
the variable speed gear.
1. Remove the counter and check
the transmission and counter at all levels.
2. Each connecting part is de-riveted
or the pin falls off.
2. Do not subject the magnetic coupling to excessive torque,
otherwise, it will be demagnetized due to the wrong pole.
Steering seal coupling
shaft oil leakage
Seal packing wear Tighten the gland or replace the packing.
Mechanical seal
coupling leakage
1. Gland is too loose. Replace seal packing
and fill with seal oil.
2. Filler wear.
The indicated value is
less than the actual value
1. The flow rate is beyond
the specified range.
1. Make the flow rate operate within the specified range
or change the flow meter specifications.
2. The medium viscosity is small. 2. Re-calibrate and replace
the adjusting gear to correct it.
3. Rotor and other rotating parts
are not flexible.
3. Check the rotor, bearings,
drive gears, etc., and replace worn parts.
The indicated value is
greater than the actual value
1. There is a large pulsation in the flow 1. Reduce the pulsation of
flow in the line.
2. The medium is mixed with gas. 2. Add de-aerator.
3. Media viscosity is large 3. Re-calibrate, replace the
adjusting gear pair and correct it.
