Gas turbine flow meter fault-485 communication problems or no communication

  • The default address of the instrument is 001, baud rate 9600, n without checksum, 8 bits of data, 1 bit of stop bit, default co-instrument 0
  • If the battery supply and the two-wire system do not support the 485 functions, the battery can be removed and the 24V supply can be confirmed as normal.
  • The instrument communication is based on the MODBUS RTU protocol, note that the instrument can read up to 14 words in a row.
  • Communication register address needs to be offset by 1 bit if using PLC,  and other software devices, e.g.: 0768, then use 0769.
  • If the accumulation (BCD code format) in the field protocol 0 cannot be resolved, it can be debugged as protocol 1, and all data format in protocol 1 is floating-point, refer to MODBUS protocol (D2 type).
  • D4 type on a protocol with D2 protocol 1.
