What circumstances is it not appropriate to use ultrasonic level meters? - Just Measure it

What circumstances is it not appropriate to use ultrasonic level meters?

In the liquid level measurement industry, the most common and most frequently used level meters are radar level meters and ultrasonic level meters.

These two types of level meters have a wide range of applications and high-production technology. However, no matter how good the level meter is, there are unsuitable working conditions. Today, let’s first look at the ultrasonic level meter that is not suitable for which working conditions occasions.

Working condition one: volatile liquid conditions or a large amount of water vapor, foam, or dust at the interface. Why are these conditions, not suitable for the use of an ultrasonic level meter? The reason is that these substances will cause the reflection and scattering of sound waves, so that the attenuation, so that the measurement error or simply can not be measured.

Working condition two: the pressure is too high or negative pressure, is not suitable for the use of the ultrasonic level meter. Pressure is too high, and ultrasonic level meter sound velocity inhibition is enhanced, affecting the measurement effect or the inability to measure the situation. In general, if the medium pressure exceeds 0.2MPa, it is best not to use the ultrasonic level meter.

If the working condition of the ultrasonic level meter is negative pressure and the air is thin, the ultrasonic wave propagation is limited and the measurement is prone to errors.

Working condition three: the ultrasonic level meter is not suitable for measuring the strong absorption capacity of acoustic wave media. The stronger the absorption capacity of acoustic waves, the greater the impact of ultrasonic level meter measurement.

Working condition four: pressure and temperature changes are not suitable for the use of ultrasonic level meters. In this case, if there is no corresponding correction, it is easy to have a large error. Therefore, the use of an ultrasonic level meter is not recommended.

First of all, the most obvious advantage of the ultrasonic level meter is the price advantage. As far as the current market is concerned, the price of ultrasonic level meters is relatively affordable, which is what most enterprises value.

Secondly, under normal temperature and pressure conditions, the ultrasonic level meter is an ideal choice for liquid level measurement as it is stable and accurate.

Ultrasonic level meters or radar level meters, all have certain advantages and shortcomings, want to improve the production efficiency of enterprises, we must know how to choose the right product.
