Because when there are obstacles in the tank of the measured medium, a false signal will be produced, which will affect the normal work of the radar level meter. For this reason, powerful microprocessors should be used for complex signal processing and must be installed to avoid obstacles in the tank.

The amount of reflected wave energy received by the radar level meter depends on the reflection characteristics of the measured medium, and the reflectivity depends on the conductivity and permittivity of the measured medium. If the permittivity is low, the low conductivity liquid will reflect the weak signal and lead to the serious attenuation of the signal. The signal will be weakened by the fluctuation of liquid level or foam scattering, so the power of the signal source or waveguide should be increased. 

Finally, it should be noted that when measuring the tank top, the liquid level should be kept at a certain distance from the antenna, in order to prevent the antenna from being measured with medium corrosion. At the same time, when the liquid level at the bottom of the tank is measured, the emission wave may penetrate the liquid level at the bottom of the tank and hit the bottom of the tank, so the reflected wave is an interference wave. If the tank bottom is concave or conical, the radar level gauge can not measure the level below this point. Therefore, in the signal processing problem, should pay attention to the choice of the limit value.

These are some of the necessary methods to ensure the normal measurement of radar level meters and improve accuracy. We can not presume that“Radar level gauge is accurate measuring instruments, can be installed at will.”. This idea is very wrong. In order for the radar level gauge to take full advantage of its high measurement accuracy, it needs to be selected, installed, debugged, and then daily maintained. Even routine detection and observation are very important, only doing each procedure well, can really use the radar level meter.
