The difference between a level meter and a level switch - Just Measure it

The difference between a level meter and a level switch

There are some obvious differences between level gauges and level switches in terms of function and how they are used.

The main function of the level meter is measurement. It can display the specific position of the liquid in the container in real time. It is a continuous measurement method.

The height of the liquid medium in the container (including tanks, storage tanks, spherical tanks, etc.) is called the liquid level, and the instrument for measuring the liquid level is the level meter.

Its function focuses on measurement and can accurately reflect the actual position of the liquid.

The liquid level switch, also known as the water level switch or liquid level sensor, has the main function of control.

When the measured liquid medium reaches a certain indicated position, the liquid level switch will output an alarm signal according to its working principle, thereby stopping the delivery of the liquid medium; when the measured liquid medium is lower than a certain set position, the liquid level switch will also output an alarm signal to remind you to start delivering the liquid.

The liquid level switch detects and controls the liquid position by means of switching quantity.

In addition, the liquid level switch is a branch of the material level switch, and the material level switch includes the liquid level switch and the material level switch.

The liquid level switch can be divided into two categories according to whether it contacts the liquid or not: contact type and non-contact type. Common contact type liquid level switches include float level switches and tuning fork level switches, while non-contact type liquid level switches include ultrasonic level switches, electronic level switches, capacitive level switches, electrode level switches, etc.

In general, level gauges and level switches have their own characteristics in terms of function and usage.

Level gauges focus more on measuring the actual position of the liquid, while level switches are mainly used for position control of the liquid.

Which device to choose depends on the specific application requirements and scenarios.
