Target flow meter advantages and disadvantages - Just Measure it

Target flow meter advantages and disadvantages

The correct selection of the target flowmeter can ensure the better use of the target flowmeter. What kind of target flowmeter should be selected according to the physical and chemical properties of the fluid medium to be measured?

The diameter, flow range, and output mode of the target flowmeter can be adapted to the nature of the fluid being measured and flow measurement requirements.

Like every other device, the target flow meter has its pros and cons, as the article reflects.

Advantages:

  • They are useful for difficult measurements such as slurries, polymer bearing, and sediment-bearing
  • Materials corrosive mixtures, etc.
  • They provide good accuracy when calibrated for specific streams.
  • Their repeatability is good.
  • They are good for relatively high temperatures and pressures.

ZeroInstrument

  • The whole instrument has a solid structure and no moving parts, a plug-in structure, easy to disassemble.
  • A variety of anti-corrosion and high and low-temperature resistant materials (such as Hastelloy, titanium, etc.) can be selected.
  • The whole machine can be made into a fully sealed, no dead angle (welded form), without any leakage points, and can withstand 42MPa high pressure.
  • The self-checking program is set in the instrument, and the fault phenomenon is clear at a glance.
  • The sensor is not in contact with the measured medium, there is no wear of parts, and it is safe and reliable to use.
  • The dry calibration method can be used on the spot, that is, the weight hanging method is used. The single key operation can complete calibration.

ZeroInstrument

  • There are a variety of installation methods to choose from, such as an online plug-in, and low installation costs.
  • With integrated temperature and pressure compensation, directly output quality or standard.
  • With optional small-signal removal, non-linear correction, and filter time optional.
  • It can accurately measure the flow of gas and liquid under various conditions of normal temperature, high temperature of 500 degrees, and low temperature of -200 degrees.
  • The measurement is accurate, and the accuracy can reach 0.2%.
  • Good repeatability, generally 0.05%~0.08%, fast measurement.

plug-in type target flow meter

  • The pressure loss is small, only about 1/2△P of the standard orifice plate.
  • Anti-interference and strong anti-impurity ability.
  • The measuring range can be changed by replacing the baffle (target) according to actual needs.
  • Low-power battery on-site display, which can directly read the displayed value online, and the display can read instantaneous and cumulative flow and percentage bar graphs at the same time; 17. Installation is simple and convenient, and easy to maintain.
  • Multiple output forms are capable of remote transmission of various parameters.
  • Strong shock resistance and pulsating flow can be measured within a certain range.

Disadvantages:

  • In-line mounting is required in these flowmeters.
  • They have limited calibration data.
  • In the case of target flowmeters, no-flow conditions must exist for zeroing.
  • Calibration must be verified in the field.
  • Pressure drop is inevitable due to the rod and the drag element.
