Radar Level Meter Measurement of Heating Oil Storage Tanks - Just Measure it

Radar Level Meter Measurement of Heating Oil Storage Tanks

A radar level meter is an instrument commonly used to measure the level of heating oil storage tanks, heating oil storage tanks are one of the common equipment in industrial production, used for storing and heating all kinds of oils, such as diesel oil, fuel oil, lubricating oil and so on. In order to ensure the safe storage and supply of oil in the tank, it is crucial to know the change of oil level in the tank in time.

Radar level meter is a kind of non-contact level measuring instrument, which can accurately measure the level in the storage tank and transmit the data to the control system, so that the operator can understand the change of oil level in time and take corresponding measures to ensure the normal operation of the equipment. Heating oil storage tanks have the following characteristics:

1. large tank capacity: heating oil storage tanks usually have a large capacity, can store hundreds or even thousands of cubic meters of oil, used to meet the needs of industrial production.

2. harsh working environment: heating oil storage tanks are usually located in industrial environments, such as factories or chemical plants, and are therefore subject to pollution, high temperature, high pressure and other adverse working environment.

3. high safety requirements: as oil flammable and explosive, so the safety requirements for heating oil storage tanks are high. Timely understanding of the changes in the oil level in the storage tank can avoid the occurrence of unsafe situations such as excessive heating and low oil level.

The following is an actual measurement case to illustrate the application of radar level meters in the measurement of heating oil storage tanks: In a chemical plant there is a heating oil storage tank for storing lubricating oil, with a total capacity of 1,000 cubic meters.

Since the lubricating oil needs to be supplied to the industrial equipment at all times, it is very important to know how the oil level is changing.

When using a radar level meter for oil level measurement, it first needs to be mounted on the wall of the tank.

By transmitting and receiving microwave signals, the radar level meter measures the return time from the transmitter to the oil level, which in turn calculates the oil level data.

The operator can know the change in oil level in real-time through the monitoring system and set the corresponding alarm value. When the oil level is too high or too low, the system will automatically sound an alarm so that the operator can take timely action.

In this case, since lubricant needs to be supplied to industrial equipment at all times, the operator will set a lower alarm value.

When the oil level falls below this value, the system will automatically issue an alarm and the operator will replenish the lubricant in time.

In addition, the radar level meter has a self-cleaning function that automatically removes oil and corrosion to improve the accuracy and stability of the measurement.

Radar level meter plays an important role in the measurement of heating oil storage tanks, it can accurately and stably measure the change of liquid level in the tanks and provide data in time to ensure the normal operation of industrial equipment and the safe supply of oil.

At the same time, it also has an automatic alarm and self-cleaning function, so that it can operate normally in the harsh working environment. Therefore, the use of a radar level meter in heating oil storage tanks is an efficient and reliable measurement method.
