Precautions in the installation of electromagnetic flowmeter - Just Measure it

Precautions in the installation of electromagnetic flowmeter

When transporting and hoisting the sensor, the sling should be put on the neck position or the hoisting ring at both ends of the sensor. Do not put a pipe rod in the measuring tube for hoisting, so as not to damage the lining (see Figure 6-27). During hoisting and transportation, the sensor lining and junction box must be prevented from being damaged by the collision surface.

Hoisting method

Before installation, the electrode of the sensor should be carefully wiped with alcohol cotton or clean silk yarn and gauze to remove the greasy contaminants on the electrode surface due to hand touch, etc., because the contamination of the electrode surface will cause in-phase interference and zero point of the instrument drifting causing errors in the measurement.

When installing a new sensor, it is best to fasten the connecting pipes, accessories, or valves to the two ends of the sensor with bolts on the ground on the site, and then install them in the pipeline together, so that the end face will not be damaged.

In the process of tightening the sensor and the pipeline, each bolt must be tightened. The thickness of the sealing gasket should be relatively uniform, so after tightening the bolts, try to pass the liquid once, if there is no leakage of moisture.

Finally, the installation of the sealing gasket is also worth noting. The hole diameter of the gasket should be the same as the inner diameter of the pipelining, and the holes should be aligned during installation. If the alignment is not correct, the part of the washer that protrudes into the pipeline lining will act as a throttling piece.

If it is severely eccentric, it will also destroy the symmetrical distribution of the flow velocity and bring unnecessary errors to the measurement. For sensors lined with PTFE, it is best to tighten the flange bolts again after running for half a day at operating temperature.
