Guided wave radar level meter measurement when the empty tank jumping situation how to do

Due to the outstanding advantages of the guided wave radar level meter, many users have turned their attention to the guided wave radar level meter. It plays an important role in industrial measurement, then it is also inevitable to encounter a variety of problems, today we come together to understand a case.

Guided wave radar is a measurement instrument based on the time travel principle, where the radar wave travels at the speed of light and the travel time can be converted into a level signal by electronic components.

The probe emits high-frequency pulses and propagates along a cable or rod probe. When the pulses meet the material surface they are reflected back and received by the receiver inside the instrument and the distance signal is converted into a level signal.

A company installed and used our guide wave radar level meter, model RD701, normal temperature, and pressure water measurement. The customer responded that the empty tank jumped, the display and PLC did not correspond, and from time to time a large signal would appear in front. Our after-sales engineer went to the site for inspection and analysis, he found that the site PLC is set to display a full range alarm below 4mA or above 20mA, the radar output 4mA in the case of an empty tank, occasionally it will drop to below 4mA, so it will jump full.

Combined with the site situation, the after-sales engineer thought it should be replaced with a new guide movement, 4mA offset upwards by 0.01mA, to redefine the range. With the set solution, the problem was solved and the guided wave radar level meter could measure normally.
