Guided wave radar level meter choose rod type or cable type - Just Measure it

Guided wave radar level meter choose rod type or cable type

In general, the maximum range of the rod-type guided wave radar level meter is 6 meters and the maximum range of the cable-type guided wave radar level meter is 30 meters.

The reason for this setting is mainly based on transport and installation considerations. So for measuring ranges greater than 6 meters, the cable-type guided wave radar level meter is chosen, and conversely, the rod-type guided wave radar level meter is chosen.

In addition, the rod-type guided wave radar level meter has a high penetration capacity for steam and foam. So if the medium has bubbles and boiling in the measurement process, it is recommended to use a rod-type guided wave radar level meter for a relatively more accurate measurement.

In addition, for measuring liquid media with a small dielectric constant, it is recommended to use a cable-type guided wave radar level meter or a double-swept guided wave radar level meter. In general, rod-type radar level meters can measure any medium, but the premise is that the dielectric constant is greater than or equal to 1.8; while the premise of double range type measuring any medium is that the dielectric constant is greater than or equal to 1.6. Therefore, measuring the dielectric constant of small liquid medium, cable type than rod type measurement is more stable and accurate.

Whether it is a rod-type guided wave radar level meter or a cable-type guided wave radar level meter, there are double rod type and double range type, single rod type and single cable type, when choosing, you can choose the most suitable one according to the actual working condition.

Guided wave radar level meter choose rod type OR range type? I believe we all have the answer in mind. After choosing the right guided wave radar level meter, we should also pay attention to the installation location.

In general, the probe of these two types of guided wave radar level meter is at least 300mm from the tank wall and 200mm from the obstacle inside the tank, and the bottom of the probe is at least 30mm from the bottom of the tank.
