Focus on radar level meter blind spots Improve measurement data accuracy

A blind zone is literally an area that cannot be reached by line of sight. The blind zone of a radar level meter is the area that cannot be reached by the microwave pulses emitted by the radar level antenna. For the radar level meter blind zone, we should pay attention to what?

Firstly, when using a radar level meter, it is important to ensure that the highest level does not enter the measurement blind zone (as shown in the area in figure D). Only in this way can the accuracy of the data and the safety of its use be ensured.

Secondly, to install a radar level meter, choose the correct and suitable location. In general, the 26 GHz high-frequency radar level meter should be installed at one-quarter or one-sixth of the tank diameter. Particular attention should be paid to the minimum distance from the tank wall of at least 200mm.

Due to the influence of many factors such as technology and model, radar level meters are also divided into many kinds. When we install them, we have to choose the most suitable location for our level meters according to the actual situation.

Finally, in order to ensure the accuracy of the data and to reduce the blind area, sufficient space should be reserved for the radar level meter to be installed and the installation should avoid being set in an area of strong vibration.

The first two points are crucial and the last one should not be underestimated. So in order to ensure that the radar level meter is installed more accurately, engineers recommend that customers install the radar level meter in such a way that the following points are achieved.

Firstly, read in detail the installation requirements inside the radar level meter product manual, especially the installation location selection section, and the typical wrong installation section.

Second, carefully survey the installation site of the radar level meter, understand the actual situation and choose the most suitable location.

Third, for a complex installation environment, consult technical personnel or ask professional personnel to implement the installation in time.

Fourthly, when installing outdoors, pay attention to taking shading and rain protection measures.

In fact, for data accuracy, in addition, to paying attention to the radar level meter blind area, we also need to choose a suitable radar level meter model, especially pay attention to the measurement range of different radar level meters and media temperature.
