FM radar level meter measuring cement powder - Just Measure it

FM radar level meter measuring cement powder

A radar level meter is a measuring instrument commonly used in industrial production, its main function is to measure the height of the material or the volume of the material in the container.

In the cement production process, a radar level meter is widely used to measure the height and volume of cement powder to ensure the stability and efficiency of the production process.

In this paper, an actual measurement case will be analyzed to discuss the problems that are prone to occur in the measurement process and the solutions.

Cement powder is a fine powdery substance with certain fluidity and susceptibility to moisture. This makes there are some special difficulties in measuring cement powder.

Firstly, due to the fluidity of cement powder, it tends to accumulate and flow unevenly in the container, which affects the accuracy of the measurement. Secondly, cement powder is susceptible to moisture, which can lead to changes in its density and thus affect the accuracy of the measurement results.

In addition, the particle size of cement powder will also affect the measurement accuracy of radar level meters.

A building materials factory used our 80G FM radar level meter model RD-FMW21, measuring cement powder, process temperature normal temperature, process pressure normal pressure, and connection flange.

The user reacted that the radar level meter was not allowed to measure, so our engineer went to the site to check and found that the radar waveform measurement was normal, check the parameters and found that the distance bias had been adjusted, some even changed one to two meters, the reason for the modification was that the measurement and radar display were not consistent, in addition, because the cement powder in the radar installation port and the measurement port level were not parallel, which was also a cause of the error.

The solution is to change the distance bias to the default value and remove the radar level meter and go to the measurement at the radar installation port, after adjustment the radar level meter measurement is accurate.

A radar level meter can measure cement powder level very well, but some problems may occur in the measurement process. Generally speaking, the inaccurate measurement of radar level meters is related to several common problems such as unreasonable installation, inaccurate parameter setting, and interference sources.

We timely adjust the parameters, find the right installation location, and remove the interference source through a number of means, you can restore accurate measurement.

If the user can’t solve the problem by himself, he can also seek help from the manufacturer. The radar level meter manufacturer will have professional engineers for guidance, which can solve the problem faster and more accurately.
