Electromagnetic flowmeter debugging tips - Just Measure it

Electromagnetic flowmeter debugging tips

Electromagnetic flowmeter is a flow measurement device designed based on Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction. When using and debugging electromagnetic flowmeters, you can follow the following tips:

1. Perform zero point calibration: Zero-calibrate the electromagnetic flowmeter when the fluid in the flowmeter is stationary. This ensures accuracy during future use.

2. Pay attention to the installation position: The installation position of the electromagnetic flowmeter should be as close to the horizontal section of the pipeline as possible, and there should be a straight pipe section with a certain distance above and below. This can ensure that the flow velocity of the fluid at the electromagnetic flowmeter is evenly distributed.

3. Observe the display screen: After starting up, the display screen of the electromagnetic flowmeter should show normal, and when no fluid flows, the displayed value should be 0.

4. Check the power supply and grounding: Make sure the power supply is in good contact, the power supply voltage is within the specified range, and the ground wire of the electromagnetic flowmeter is in good contact.

5. Check the environmental factors: avoid interference from strong magnetic fields and strong electric fields, and avoid excessively high or low temperatures in the environment where the electromagnetic flowmeter is used.

6. Correctly select electrode and lining materials: According to the actual measured fluid properties, select appropriate electrode materials and lining materials to ensure the measurement accuracy and service life of the electromagnetic flowmeter.

7. Use pipelines filled with fluid: Electromagnetic flowmeters are only suitable for measurement in pipelines filled with fluid. If there are non-conductors such as bubbles or solid particles in the pipeline, the accuracy of the measurement may be affected.
