The integrated electromagnetic flowmeter does not need to install a converter separately. The split-type converter is installed near the sensor or in the instrument room, where there is more room for choice, and the environmental conditions are better than the sensor.
Its protection level is IP65 or IP64 (dust-proof and splash-proof). The requirements of the installation site are roughly the same as the installation of the flow sensor. The ambient temperature is limited by the electronic components, and the temperature range of use should be narrower.
The distance between the converter and the sensor is limited by the conductivity of the measured medium and the type of signal cable, that is, the distributed capacitance of the cable, the cross-section of the wire, and the number of shielding layers, etc. Generally, the signal cable attached with the instrument (or specified model) of the manufacturer should be used. For liquids with lower conductivity and longer transmission distances, it is also stipulated to use three-layer shielded cables.
The instruction manual of the general instrument gives the corresponding transmission distance range for different conductivity liquids. For example, a single-layer shielded cable used for industrial water or acid-base solution can usually transmit a distance of 100m.
In order to avoid signal interference, the signal cable must be worn separately in the ground protection steel pipe, and the signal cable and power line cannot be installed in the same steel pipe.
