Commissioning Procedure for Differential Pressure Transmitter - Just Measure it

Commissioning Procedure for Differential Pressure Transmitter

1. Preparation

  • Ensure that both high-pressure and low-pressure isolation valves are closed.

  • Confirm that the equalizing valve is in the open position.

2. Line Flushing

  • Open the drain valve.

  • Slowly open the primary process valve to flush the impulse lines.

  • Perform flushing at least twice.

  • Close the drain valve after flushing.

3. Cooling and Air Removal

  • Allow the impulse lines to cool to a safe temperature before proceeding.

  • If air vent valves are installed, briefly open them to expel any trapped air, then close them.

4. Filling and Zero Adjustment

  • Slowly open the high-pressure side isolation valve.

  • For steam or liquid applications, wait until the impulse lines are fully filled with condensate or liquid.

  • Loosen the drain screws on both the high and low-pressure chambers of the transmitter to release residual air.

  • Once the process fluid begins to emerge, tighten the screws securely.

  • Inspect for any leakage.

  • Check and adjust the transmitter’s zero point if necessary.

5. Final Valve Operation

  • Close the equalizing valve.

  • Gradually open the low-pressure side isolation valve.
