The radar level meter has undergone numerous tests during the development process and the accuracy has been based on numerous experiments. However, the actual working conditions are not equal to the test working conditions. The actual working conditions may include heating devices, a limit switch in the storage tank, etc. These can cause interference to the radar level meter and nearly affect the measurement accuracy.

In general, radar level meters can be divided into internal interference and external interference, but also can be divided into fixed interference and random interference. Fixed interference, is generally caused by spurious echoes from fixed obstacles. The most typical example is interference caused by obstacles such as human ladders and beams. This type of interference is caused by the premise that the obstacle is within the radar beam. The most effective way to eliminate this interference is to keep the obstacle out of the wave speed range or to adjust the echo suppression curve to suppress the interfering factor, depending on the actual operating conditions.

Random interference is generated by a number of factors, the most important of which are two: the first, the agitator in the process of movement of dynamic interference; the second, the installation, the radar level meter is too close to the tank wall and the formation of secondary or multiple echo interference. For this kind of interference, the installation position can be changed, filters can be taken to eliminate it, and echo selection algorithms can be used to solve it. As for the final solution, it will depend on the specific working conditions.
