Analysis of the characteristics of radar level meters from several aspects

The ultrasonic waves emitted by an ultrasonic level meter are mechanical waves that cannot be propagated in a vacuum and can only be propagated through a certain medium. Radar level meters, on the other hand, are the opposite. The microwaves emitted by radar level meters, which belong to electromagnetic waves, do not need a medium for electromagnetic wave propagation and can spread freely in a vacuum without being affected by the atmosphere, volatile gases, or steam. Therefore, radar level meters have the characteristic of measuring volatile liquids in this way.

Radar level meters measure liquid interfaces, mainly by transmitting and reflecting electromagnetic waves. The accuracy of the measurement depends to a large extent on the reflected signal captured by the radar level meter receiver, the stronger the reflected signal, the more accurate the measurement. The stronger the reflected signal, the more accurate the measurement. If the reflected signal is too attenuated, the radar level meter will not be able to capture enough of the reflected signal and the measurement will be greatly affected.

The strength of the reflected signal depends to a large extent on the conductivity and dielectric constant of the liquid medium. Generally speaking, conductive media can reflect electromagnetic waves very well, and non-conductive media with a dielectric constant greater than 1.6 can also reflect electromagnetic waves very well. Therefore, another feature of radar level meters is that they can measure the level of most liquid media.

Liquid level measuring instruments, some with integrated design, some with split design. In order to facilitate the use of the radar level meter, the product has both an integrated design and a split design. This is the last feature of the radar level meter to be mentioned in this article.
