Analysis of radar level meter selection and application from a theoretical perspective

There are many types of radar level meters on the market, but what affects the measurement effect of radar level meters basically includes several aspects.

Firstly, the temperature and pressure of the medium are measured. Each radar level meter has limits on process temperature and process pressure.

Secondly, the characteristics of the measured medium. The characteristics mentioned here mainly include the dielectric constant of the medium, viscosity, whether it is corrosive, whether it is volatile, and so on. Radar level meter has different antennas, different materials, and even different explosion-proof levels. The antenna, the material, and even the explosion-proof rating are all different depending on the characteristics of the medium being measured. So, this must be noted.

Thirdly, the phenomena generated during operation. When the radar level meter measures the medium in the reactor, a variety of phenomena can occur, such as the liquid level generating foam and causing fluctuations. These will also have a certain impact on the radar level meter measurement effect

Therefore, for the selection and application of radar level meters, professionals give the following recommendations.

Firstly, for complex-shaped tanks with a small volume, a cable-type guided wave radar level meter can be used.

Secondly, for the measurement of multiple liquid interfaces, it is recommended to try a cable-type guided wave radar level meter.

Thirdly, if the measured medium is volatile, corrosive, high temperature, and high pressure, it is recommended to use a non-contact radar level meter.

The above radar level meter selection and application, are from a theoretical point of view, and can only be used as a reference, not as a basis. Each working condition can not be said to be very different, but there are differences, so the specific selection, but also need to understand their own working conditions, consult the relevant technical personnel or sales staff, after all, the theory and practice is a certain gap.
