As shown in Figure 1, the upstream pressure tapping point is located 25.4 mm from the upstream face of the orifice plate, and the downstream pressure tapping point is also located 25.4 mm from the downstream face of the orifice plate.
When using flange pressure tapping, the pressure tapping flange is included as part of the complete throttling device. The pressure tapping flange is welded to the pipeline. The flange pressure tapping method has a relatively simple structure and is easy to process. However, it should be noted that the flange is a special orifice plate flange, not an ordinary flange.
The pressure rating is 300 LB (the thickness of the flange is related to the pressure rating, and the flange pressure tapping requires the distance from the tapping point to the flange to be 25.4 mm). In conditions with relatively low operating pressure, this method invisibly increases the cost. The pressure tapping flange is shown in the figure.
