Several main reasons for vortex flowmeter failure during use

Improper installation location

When installing the vortex flowmeter, avoid installing it too close to the curved part of the pipe, the near end of the pump or the valve to avoid vortex or vibration that may affect the measurement accuracy.

Pipeline flow instability

If there is obvious turbulence, vortex or flow velocity pulsation in the pipeline, it will affect the accuracy of the vortex flowmeter. This may be caused by pipeline layout problems, small pipeline diameter, changes in local pipeline resistance, etc.

Too high flow rate

When the measured liquid contains a large amount of gas, the gas-liquid two-phase flow will interfere with the measurement of the vortex flowmeter, resulting in unstable output signals.

Liquid gas content is too high

When the measured liquid contains a large amount of gas, the gas-liquid two-phase flow will interfere with the measurement of the vortex flowmeter, resulting in unstable output signals.

The requirements for correct installation of the vortex flowmeter are as follows:

1. Avoid strong electric equipment, high frequency equipment, and strong switching power supply equipment as much as possible. The power supply of the instrument should be separated from these equipment as much as possible.

2. Avoid the direct influence of high temperature heat sources and radiation sources. If it must be installed, there must be insulation and ventilation measures.

3. Avoid high humidity environment and strong corrosive gas environment. If it must be installed, there must be ventilation measures.

4. There should be ample space around the instrument installation point to facilitate installation and wiring and regular maintenance.

5. The vortex flowmeter can only measure in one direction, and the direction of the medium flow must be the same as the direction indicated by the arrow of the flowmeter.

6. The vortex flowmeter should be installed vertically, and the medium flows through the flowmeter from bottom to top.

Please note that specific installation requirements and troubleshooting methods may vary depending on the vortex flowmeter model, application environment and usage conditions.

It is recommended to refer to the relevant manuals and technical guidelines of the vortex flowmeter in actual operation.
