In the wood processing and papermaking industries, wood chip silos are an important part of storing raw materials. The measurement principle is to emit microwave pulses and receive echoes, and calculate the material level height through the time difference of the echoes. 

The installation location of the radar level gauge is usually chosen in the center of the silo roof to ensure uniform distribution of measurement signals and maximum coverage.

In actual operation, the radar level meter has demonstrated excellent performance. First of all, its measurement accuracy is extremely high, and the error can be controlled within ±1 cm, which is crucial for accurate inventory control and optimization of production plans. 

Secondly, because it is a non-contact measurement, it is not affected by changes in the humidity and density of the wood chips, nor is it impossible to measure due to bridges between the wood chips. In addition, radar level gauges are very low maintenance and require little to no regular calibration or other maintenance work.
