Application of Radar Level Meter in Pulper Level Measurement - Just Measure it

Application of Radar Level Meter in Pulper Level Measurement

In the pulp and paper industry, pulper is one of the key equipment. Its operational efficiency and stability directly affect the entire production process. Therefore, accurate and continuous monitoring of the liquid level of the pulper is crucial.

Traditional liquid level measurement methods such as float and pressure type have many problems, such as susceptible to environmental influences, installation and maintenance difficulties.

In recent years, with the development of science and technology, radar level meter has been gradually applied in the measurement of liquid level of pulper because of its advantages of high accuracy, stability and reliability.

The main difficulties in pulper level measurement are as follows:

1. Complex liquid nature: the liquid in the pulping process not only contains pulp, but also may be mixed with impurities such as waste residue and air bubbles, which will have an impact on the measurement results.

2. High level fluctuation: during the pulping process, the liquid level fluctuates frequently due to mechanical agitation, which puts forward a high demand for the accuracy and stability of the measuring equipment.

3. Harsh working conditions: pulpers usually work in high temperature, high pressure, acid and alkali environments, which puts forward a severe challenge to the performance and life of the measuring equipment.

Radar level meter is a kind of liquid level measurement equipment based on microwave technology, and its working principle is to transmit microwave pulses, and determine the liquid level height by receiving reflected back microwave pulses and calculating the time difference. Since microwave is not affected by the nature of the liquid, temperature, pressure and other factors, the radar level meter can overcome the above difficulties in measuring the level of pulper.

Case 1: A large paper mill’s pulper originally used a float level meter, but due to the float is susceptible to pulp impact and stuck, resulting in inaccurate measurement. Later, the mill introduced radar level meters, which greatly improved the operating efficiency and stability of the pulper through accurate measurement.

Case 2: The pulper in the waste paper processing equipment of an environmental protection company needs to process waste paper containing a large number of impurities. The traditional level measurement method cannot measure the level accurately, while the introduced radar level meter can measure the level accurately and stably, which ensures the efficiency and quality of waste paper processing.

Radar level meter has become the ideal choice for pulper level measurement with its advantages of high accuracy, stability and reliability. In the pulp and paper industry, accurate level control is indispensable for both production efficiency and product quality. Therefore, how to choose the right level measurement equipment is the problem that every pulp and paper enterprise needs to face.
