In daily life, factories often use corrosive media such as nitric acid and sulphuric acid. For this medium, how should we choose the radar level meter? What are the criteria for selection?
A professional engineer once said: “The most critical factor in the corrosion protection of radar level meter is the component itself, which must be made of corrosion-resistant materials. So many radar level meter manufacturers initially choose PTFE material with anti-corrosion material in the antenna part. The most obvious feature of this material is its resistance to acid and alkali corrosion and to the dissolution of organic solvents.
This is one of the most common solutions to corrosive media. However, with the development and progress of technology, the emergence of non-contact radar level meters has opened up another way to measure corrosive media, that is, the use of non-contact radar level meters.
The non-contact radar level meter antenna does not come into direct contact with the medium itself, it measures the medium by transmitting a microwave pulse – transmitting a microwave pulse – reflecting a microwave pulse – receiving a microwave pulse again – converting the signal. During this time, the microwave pulses travel extremely fast and the measurement is completed almost instantaneously.
This radar level meter, in addition to taking a non-contact design, also uses a fully sealed anti-corrosion structure and contact surface anti-corrosion material production, which can well prevent the corrosion of the liquid medium.
When choosing a radar level meter for corrosive media, in addition to considering whether the product has strong anti-corrosion resistance, it should also be considered in terms of installation and maintenance.
Corrosive media such as sulphuric acid and nitric acid, due to their own uniqueness, when it comes to installation, try to choose a radar level meter that is easy to install. From a maintenance point of view, try to choose a maintenance-free radar level meter. This will ensure safety while improving production efficiency.
Radar level meters have their commonality and also their individuality. Whether it is a corrosive medium or a volatile medium, when we choose, we must consider the medium itself, the second to consider measurement range, and the third to consider the medium container held.
