Refrigerant tank level measurement is quite an important part of the process control of the scroll compressor liquid strike test. In order to control the tank level at all times, many companies use different level meters for level measurement experiments according to their own situation, of which the two most common are magnetic flap level meters and guided wave radar level meters.
Magnetic flap level meter in the refrigerant tank experimental process, in addition to installation restrictions, but also the magnetic flip column and float stuck, so the maintenance costs are relatively high.
The guided wave radar level meter was otherwise fine during the refrigerant tank experiment, except for a mistake in the setting of the measurement blind zone, which led to a measurement error, which was corrected by professionals, and the measurement returned to normal.
From the experimental situation of these two level meters, the guided wave radar level meter is more suitable for refrigerant tank level measurement. So, what are the working conditions to be noted when choosing a guided wave radar level meter?
Firstly, the dielectric constant of the refrigerant tank medium is generally low. When choosing a guided wave radar level meter, a coaxial tube-type guided wave radar level meter can be considered. Coaxial tube type guided wave radar level meter, the radar wave emitted in the metal tube propagation, energy is relatively more concentrated, the effective return signal is relatively stronger and more suitable for low dielectric constant liquid level measurement.
Secondly, pay attention to the density of the medium in the tank. It is known that with the change of condensing temperature within the working conditions, the density of the medium in the tank will change. The microwave pulses emitted by the guided wave radar level meter are electromagnetic waves, which are not affected by the density of the medium. Therefore, this has no effect on the radar level meter.
Finally, pay attention to the setting of the blind zone. Inaccurate blind zone settings can easily lead to measurement errors. Therefore, when installing, you must find out the situation of your own working conditions.
In practice, refrigerant tank level measurement considers the characteristics of the working conditions far more than these. In each enterprise, the process used is different, the automation equipment used is different, and the design of the process is different, and naturally, the refrigerant tank level measurement to consider the working conditions are not the same. So whether you are buying a radar level meter or other automation equipment, be sure to understand the characteristics of your own working conditions.
