Simple analysis of liquefied gas level measurement - Just Measure it

Simple analysis of liquefied gas level measurement

Liquefied gas, is also known as liquefied petroleum gas and liquefied natural gas. This medium has a very low dielectric constant. As a rule, liquid media with low dielectric constants are suitable for radar-level meters to be installed in bypass tubes. The radar waves emitted by the radar level meter are transmitted in the bypass tube with good focusing properties and a strong return signal.

However, many companies have used the low-frequency radar level meter + bypass tube measurement method to measure liquefied gas, but the result is that some companies have very high requirements for the production of the bypass tube, resulting in unsatisfactory measurement results in the bypass tube; some are due to the storage of liquefied gas spherical tank, the range is very large, resulting in the bypass tube is too long, distorted, unable to measure. For all these reasons, the low-frequency radar level meter + bypass tube measurement method has rarely been successful in China.

Low-frequency radar level meters + bypass tubes are rarely successful in measuring liquefied petroleum gas, so what else can be done to measure liquefied petroleum gas? The professionals advise the use of high-frequency radar level meters for level measurement.

The HF radar level meter can be installed in a thicker bypass tube or on a riser with a ball valve at the top of a spherical tank, thus satisfying the premise of LPG measurement and facilitating maintenance.

In addition to the very low dielectric constant, liquefied gas also has several conditions, i.e. the storage environment must be low temperature and high pressure; prone to explosions; storage tanks for liquefied gas are generally spherical tanks and are between 10 and 28 meters high.

Compared with low-frequency radar level meters, the high-frequency radar level meter wave speed aggregation effect is excellent, with a variety of different types of antenna, most working conditions can be achieved accurate measurement.

Together with the more advanced technology of the high-frequency radar level meter, it is more suitable for the measurement of liquefied gas.

In liquid medium level measurement, the working conditions of liquefied gas are relatively complex, so when choosing and installing a radar level meter, it is necessary to consult the relevant engineers or sales personnel in detail, who will give more reasonable and professional advice and suggestions with their many years of relevant experience and experience in the field.
