Guided wave radar level meter installation need to pay attention to which aspects

The guided wave radar level meter is a type of radar level meter, which belongs to the contact radar level meter. The biggest difference between this level meter and a non-contact radar level meter lies in the antenna part.

The antenna (detection component) used in a guided wave radar level meter is usually a steel cable or rod. Contact radar level meters are flared, rod, droplet antennas, and so on.

There are many considerations when installing non-contact radar level meters, such as arch-shaped tanks, where the meter must not be installed in the middle of the tank roof. Is the guided wave radar level meter also such a taboo? Next, let’s take a look at the precautions to be taken when installing a guided wave radar level meter

Firstly, the return wave of the guided wave radar is propagated along the rod or cable antenna, and the radius of the radiation surface is about 200mm, because of the special type of guided wave radar return wave propagation, under certain circumstances, the guided wave radar can be installed in the side wall.

Secondly, guided wave radar level meter detection components for steel cable and rigid rod, in order to protect the antenna and extend the service life, guide wave radar installation to avoid strong eddy current working conditions. If you really want to install it under strong chemical reactions or stirring conditions, you need to use special methods, such as installation in the waveguide tube or bypass tube.

If the guided wave radar level meter is installed in the guided wave tube, two aspects should be noted: firstly, the length of the guided wave tube must reach the lowest liquid level; secondly, the inner wall of the guided wave tube should be kept smooth, stainless steel tube is the best choice of material. Only to do the above two points, the measurement can be carried out normally in the guide wave tube, and the accuracy can be higher.

Third, the detection component of the wave-guide radar level meter as far as possible to maintain a vertical relationship with the liquid medium, to prevent the reflected microwave is not from the liquid medium itself, affecting the measurement.
