Radar level meter measurement of methanol storage tank in the floating roof will be what the problem

First, take you to understand, the inner floating top tank and methanol, the inner floating top tank is the floating top inside the fixed top tank, mainly composed of a fixed top tank body, inner floating plate, sealing device, ventilation holes, high and low-level alarm, etc. The floating top of this tank floats on the liquid storage surface, there is an annular space between the floating top and the tank wall, and there is a sealing element inside the annular space. 

The floating top and the sealing element together form a covering layer on the liquid storage surface. As the reservoir floats up and down, the storage liquid in the tank is completely separated from the atmosphere and is not affected by external factors such as wind and rain, reducing the storage process of the reservoir. Evaporation loss is reduced, air pollution is reduced, and the quality and safety of the storage fluid are easily ensured. Therefore, the internal floating roof tank is the safest, most economical, and most convenient structure form to reduce the evaporation loss of fixed roof tanks.

It has been widely used to store gasoline, aldehydes, alcohols, ketones, benzene, and other flammable and explosive volatile liquid chemicals. Methanol is an important chemical raw material, and methanol storage tanks are very important equipment for both production and use enterprises. Methanol is a volatile and flowable liquid, which is a flammable and explosive, toxic, and dangerous substance. 

Therefore, the safety of a methanol storage tank as a methanol storage body is self-evident. Methanol is stored in the inner floating roof tank, and the inner floating roof floats on the methanol level and rises and falls with the level. Since the methanol level and the inner floating top are closely fitted, there is no evaporation space, so there is almost no methanol breathing loss in the inner floating top tank, which can effectively prevent the risk of explosion caused by methanol volatilization and concentration accumulation.

A company installed our radar level meter, model RD-902, to measure the floating top of the formaldehyde storage tank, and the site responded that the radar level meter often jumped. After inspection, our after-sales engineer judged that the radar level meter was installed in the middle of the curved tank and the secondary echo was too strong, which led to jumping. The solution was to replace a trial 80G radar level meter, then shield the front interference signal and add the first wave to avoid multiple echoes of the radar jump.

 

In this case, the floating top of the methanol storage tank also appeared in this situation, and the problem was solved through the debugging of the after-sales engineer. The effect of the radar level meter measuring methanol floating top is still very good, but the specific choice of high-frequency radar level meter or FM radar level meter, needs to be seen according to the specific working conditions.
