Guided wave radar level meter for measuring powders - Just Measure it

Guided wave radar level meter for measuring powders

A company installed three of our guided wave radar level meters, model RD-701, for measuring powder. The customer responded that the three HBRD level meters kept jumping and the measurement was not accurate.

Our after-sales engineers arrived at the site and found three problems. Firstly, there was a problem with the range setting of the instrument. However, after the after-sales engineers had measured the three meters, they found that the original range settings were incorrect, two of the tanks had an actual height of 9 metres, while the range was set at 10 metres. Another tank was 12.5 metres high, but the range was set at 11.5 metres, which caused an error in the measurement of the gauge.

Secondly, the installation of the instrument was unreasonable. The instrument was installed too close to the inlet, about 30 cm apart, so that when feeding, the material in the process of falling would certainly touch the cable, causing the instrument to mismeasure, so the instrument jumped.

And through inquiry, we learned that the weight was fixed at the time of installation on site, but not with insulation, which could have caused the meter to not change in the feed and keep showing zero.

Thirdly, a problem was found on site with the commissioning button of the guided wave radar level meter, so the commissioning panel was replaced by the after-sales engineer.

After the after-sales engineer’s commissioning, all the above problems were solved. It is not difficult to find that the range setting should be accurate and the installation should be reasonable in order to measure accurately.
