a waveguide tube for radar level meters - Just Measure it

a waveguide tube for radar level meters

Many of you have questions about the need for a waveguide tube for radar level meters, which are usually used for liquid measurements as they do not require direct contact with the medium.

However, some people install waveguide tubes when using high-frequency radar level meters, while others do not, so what is the specific function of waveguide tubes? And why do you need to install a waveguide tube?

Under normal use, there is no need to add a waveguide tube to the radar level meter.

The main function of adding a waveguide tube to the radar level meter is to enhance the signal, prevent signal fluctuations and make the radar waves more concentrated so as not to have a great impact on the accuracy.

In general, the radar level meter is added to the waveguide tube when the following situations arise.

  1. In the liquid being measured, the dielectric constant is low.

  1. If the level is unstable fluctuations or the medium is volatile and has acid mist, the waveguide tube can be installed in the bypass tube.

  1. There is stirring near the working condition, and the medium often fluctuates.

  1. The echo signal reflection is not strong, there is a strong interference signal.
