1. Different design principles

Turbine flow meters focus on measuring liquids and are velocity flow meters. The principle is to use the relationship between the rotation angular speed of the impeller placed in the liquid and the liquid flow rate to calculate the liquid flow rate by measuring the rotation speed of the impeller.

The vortex flowmeter is designed and manufactured based on the Karman vortex principle. The principle of fluid oscillation is used to measure flow. When the fluid passes through the vortex flow transmitter in the pipeline, two rows of vortices proportional to the flow rate are generated alternately up and down behind the vortex generator of the triangular prism. The release frequency of the vortex is related to the flow through the vortex generator. The average velocity of the fluid is related to the characteristics of the vortex generator.

2. Different application scopes

Vortex flow meters are mainly used for flow measurement of industrial pipeline media fluids, such as gas, liquid, steam and other media.

Turbine flowmeters are widely used in the following measurement objects: petroleum, organic liquids, inorganic liquids, low-viscosity clean liquids, etc.

3. Different characteristics

The turbine flowmeter has a simple structure, few processed parts, light weight, easy maintenance, large flow capacity (large flow rate can pass through the same diameter) and can adapt to high parameters (high temperature, high pressure and low temperature), etc.

The vortex flowmeter is characterized by small pressure loss, large measuring range, and high accuracy. When measuring the volume flow rate under working conditions, it is almost not affected by parameters such as fluid density, pressure, temperature, and viscosity. There are no moving mechanical parts, so reliability is high and maintenance is low. Instrument parameters can be stable for a long time.
